This wiki is cool, but...what exactly is Alliance?
Alliance is a Survivor ORG experience run by Ryan Plexsty, which is notably unique from other ORGs for a variety of reasons-
Ok ok hold on, what’s a Survivor ORG?
Good question! Alliance alumni Squirb has written a great explanation of this:
Survivor is a gameshow commonly played on TV, but people have created online versions called ORGs ("Online Reality Games"), played on various platforms including Discord. While Survivor ORGs tend to be based on the typical Survivor TV show format, individual Survivor ORGs may create their own unique features and twists to spice up the game. The ultimate goal of every game is to beat the other players and win!
If you've never seen or played Survivor, you start off as tribes or teams of people. The tribes participate in challenges against the other tribe(s). The winning tribe is given immunity, while the losing tribe goes to Tribal Council. In a Survivor ORG, the losing tribe is typically given ~24 hours to discuss the vote and to each individually cast a vote to eliminate a player. The player with the most votes is eliminated from the game.
When around half or so of the castaways are left, the tribes typically merge into one tribe. This is when Survivor becomes even more of an individual game, as players participate in individual challenges against the other individual players. The winning player is given immunity for that upcoming Tribal Council and cannot be voted out. At Tribal, everyone again votes and the player with the most votes is eliminated from the game.
In the late phase of the game, the voted-out players don't completely leave the game but instead join the Jury. At Final Tribal Council, the Finalists plead their cases while the Jury is invited to ask questions to determine which Finalist is most deserving of the win. After the Jurors have collected enough information to ultimately make their decision, they individually vote for a Finalist to win the title of Sole Survivor and the game!*

Ok, so Alliance is one of those?
Yup! So far we’ve had eight seasons, with casts ranging from 14 to 18 players. However, it should be noted that many aspects of Alliance are different from other Survivor ORGs you may have seen.
What makes Alliance different?
So many things! But a few of the bigger points are:
This sounds really fun! Where can I learn more?

What makes Alliance different?
So many things! But a few of the bigger points are:
- An amazing production team. As someone who is active in the ORG community, I can personally confirm that Ryan, Clever, Jeffniss, and Meg are some of the best ORG staff members I’ve ever seen, and together they consistently manage to craft fantastic seasons with deep lore, creative challenges, and a vibrant community of players and viewers alike.
- An active viewer’s lounge. You will be hard pressed to find an ORG with a viewer’s lounge more active than in Alliance. In season 6, the lounge had over 22,000 messages, which is absolutely gargantuan compared to other ORGs. We have dozens of active viewers that are always happy to welcome new viewers, or help catch up anyone that misses viewing for a day or few!
- Intensive challenges and tribals. Unlike most other ORGs, the production team works tirelessly with the players on scheduling to ensure that both challenges and tribals can be held at times that work for all castaways, just like on the actual show! This underlines the more immersive aspect of Alliance while still not hurting those from other timezones, with challenges adjusted to be friendly to all whenever necessary.
- Rich, detailed lore. Alliance uses a complex subchannel system full of hundreds of custom commands, providing backstory on the season’s story, subtle hints for advantage clues, or even custom-made bots to mock you as you search (hi Polly!). The effort to be rewarded by this system is hefty, but quite rewarding, and allows for an even more immersive experience.
- Realistic social interaction. All 1-on-1 conversations are done on-server, and are closed down for tribals just like they would be on an island for true filming of the show. Unlike many other ORGs, alliance chats are not created, with subchannels open instead, causing players to need to coordinate a meetup just like on the show...while running the risk of being party-crashed as well!
